Job Title: Demolition Laborer

Startin Salary: $20 - $34 per hour   

Status: Full Time - Non-Exempt with benefits


 

SUMMARY

This position consists of  assisting in the teardown and removal of structures, materials, and debris on job sites. This role involves the use of hand and power tools, physical labor, and adherence to strict safety standards. You will work as part of a team to help clear job sites efficiently and safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use tools and manual labor; which includes breaking up concrete, removing roofs, and tearing down walls.

  • Cleanup and remove all materials and debris from jobsites and place into dumpsters.

  • Load and unload tools and equipment; load trash into vehicles and dumpsters to be hauled away.

  • Load heavy materials into dumpsters

  • Working on uneven surfaces, ladders, and scaffolds

  • Maintain personal and workplace safety at all times by wearing proper protective equipment and adhering to all safety protocols. 

  • Perform demolition of buildings, walls, floors, roofs, or interior spaces according to instructions or blueprints

  • Operate hand and power tools including sledgehammers, jackhammers, saws, and grinders

  • Assist with setup and teardown of containment areas and safety barriers

  • Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols, including proper use of PPE

  • Identify and handle hazardous materials safely (asbestos, lead, etc., if trained)

  • Work on scaffolding, ladders, and in confined spaces as needed

  • Clean and prepare job sites before and after demolition activities

  • Collaborate with other crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time

  • Other related duties.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS​​​​​​​

  • Physically fit and able to lift 50–100 lbs and work on your feet all day

  • Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Basic knowledge of tools and safety procedures

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Must pass a drug test and background check (if applicable)

 

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification

  • Asbestos/Lead Abatement Certification

  • Forklift or equipment operation certification 

  • HAZWOPER training

  • Valid Driver’s License
